You feel it.

The choking smoke has stilled; the burning in your lungs is slowly fading.

Nothing remains — only your violated body, and the corpse of the ideological ghost still clinging, unsevered. 

Rust and plastic are seeping into the groundwater. 

They will return to you at last.

You, too, are approaching your end.

And yet, breath remains.

Beneath the damp earth and oil, an older scent.

Something is climbing upward.

What is it?

limp and blind. it's still struggling to follow instinct, you feel it.

That thread — stretching from your fingertip to its antennae.

Guide it.
